Manure is a good source
of all crop nutrients, including the major or macro and micro or
trace minerals. Nitrogen (N) generally is the nutrient with the
greatest nutritive value and often the highest potential for
pollution. Therefore, manure is best used for crops that have
high nitrogen use. The following table reflects manure
production and average nutrient content. Where ever possible it
is advised to sample the manure in question by grabbing a good
representative sample by sampling the manure after it has been
agitated or mixed thoroughly.
